City Government Support
Working closely with City agencies under the guidelines of the new policies implemented by the Mayor’s Office and members of the State Senate, Forge has developed plans that will put the building at the center of the City’s investment in downtown in this post-pandemic era by transforming office spaces into state-of- the-art apartment units.
Forge would like to thank Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Matt Dorsey for their continued support of our shared vision to bring affordable sustainable housing to the residents of
San Francisco.
Steam : The Sustainable Choice
By utilizing the preexisting steam infrastructure combined with new solar technology, 785 Market will redefine the sustainable reconstruction of historic buildings in the urban core of San Francisco.
Cordia provides clean energy to 37 million square feet of space in the city's commercial core. A 100% carbon neutral energy source that is cost effective, reliable, repeatable, and most importantly, sustainable.

Zero Net Energy/ Zero Net Carbon
Forge is proud to partner with PG&E in the conversion of this historic property, which will offer 120 new middle-income housing units to the downtown area. Thank you for working with us to find an efficient way to energize this repurposed building, and for supporting our vision of a sustainable San Francisco.
This is the first step in Forge implementing its vision of high tech, sustainable and zero net energy/zero net carbon housing which seeks to contribute to the revitalization of San Francisco.
Ground Level Retail Space
San Francisco’s downtown area has seen a loss of businesses and residents as a result of the pandemic. Transforming underutilized office space is a great way to bring people back into the downtown area to create a more resilient and dynamic neighborhood.
The Men’s Warehouse storefront currently in the Humboldt Bank Building will remain so that it can continue to provide street level retail, increasing shopping foot traffic to the area.
The Forge Commitment
Forge is committed to use Group Occupancy as an impetus to change the development model in San Francisco from luxury or low income housing to one that targets the middle-income consumer. A group that is hardly ever targeted in San Francisco. They are the “Missing Middle”.
